Staying Focused

Today, I heard a minister, Dr. Hilliard, on the television and his message today was all for me. He spoke today about staying focused and the four commitments to success. It refreshed me. So often, we get so tied up in our daily lives that we forget our whole purpose of our calling. What he meant by staying focused was that if we don't forget God and listen to him as he guides us, we won't get so burned out until we get weary, without being renewed. He also pointed out that when God helps us to do something and he gets the glory, it's with ease and joy comes behind it. I'm very thankful for this message today.

Summer Cleaning

Today has been a very good and productive day. I got up very early before the kids woke up and I got started. I washed clothes, blankets, rugs, pillows and anything else that I saw. I dusted high and low, clean out closets, stored stuff, threw away stuff, cleaned the wash room, etc. I drunk some Rip It this morning and I went at. I feel good. I think next week I'll began painting. I'm thankful I got a lot done today.

It's Time

I think it's time. Today my 18 month old would not keep on his diaper. Every time I put it back on him, he leaves me and takes it back off. I just got tired and left it off of him. I don;t know if it was irritating him or if he just does not want to wear one but I was always told by my elders that he would come out of it hen he was good and ready. I believe he's ready. He didn't have any accidents and that's a good thing. So today, I'm thankful for the sign.

Free Doritios

A few weeks ago my good friend sent me an email for some free Doritos and I was kind of skeptical about using them because I didn't want to go into the store and get embarrassed. Well today was grocery day, we needed some chips and I remembered to print it out. I went to the Wal-Mart on Dauphin and low and behold it worked. In fact I wasn't embarrassed, I was quite happy because it saved me $4.18. So thank God for FREE Doritos. If you would like for me to forward this coupon to you, please feel free to contact me through email.

Class Reunion

This weekend has been very busy. My husband's 20 year class reunion was this weekend and it's been a blast. Since we attended the same high school, we know just about the same people. So, I felt right at home. Today, I want to be thankful for friendships. We had a chance to rekindle some old friendships as well as embrace some new ones. Although friendships can be a very emotional roller coaster, they're good to have.

Mothers

This week has been rough but I won't complain. My mother came over yesterday and spent some time with us. We enjoyed her visit. She got a chance to see the baby walk on his tippy toes. Since the summer break and school began, my time has been consumed with my classes and my household family. It seems like since I'm at home, I'm working more than I was when I punched the clock. And my classwork seems like it's a lot more. So today, I want to take this time to be thankful for my mother. She's sweet, kind and loving. She's the best and I love her very much!

Atlanta Trip

This afternoon, we returned from our trip to Atlanta. It was wonderful. We had a great time touring the city and visiting with our family (thank God for GPS). My cousin had a beautiful wedding and reception. Her colors were spring green, champagne and ivory. It was pure, romantic, short, sweet, and classy. The newlyweds will honeymoon in the Bahamas for a week and then return to began their journey together. I want to thank God for his traveling mercy, grace, and our new edition to the family.

Summer Travel

Today, I'm preparing to travel to Atlanta on tomorrow. My cousin will be getting married on Saturday and we're excited about going. This will be the first time my husband and me gets to watch a marriage ceremony from the pews together. In recent times, either of us have been participants, if not both. We're planning on making this a mini vacation. We're going to Stone Mountain to see the laser show, visit some family, shopping, dining and then resting up to return home. Today, I'd like to be thankful for my husband who brings out the best in me. He's a wonderful, patient and peaceful man I've loved since high school. Throughout the planning of the trip, not once has he complained or gotten aggravated. Me, that's a different story. He's always very supportive towards me no matter how crazy my ideas are. He's a family man and I thank God for him.

Welcome!

Hi Class,

I'd like to take this time to welcome you to my blog. During the next few weeks, I hope you get to learn a little more about me. This blog will serve as a reflection of various things that I'm thankful for. Somethings mentioned will involve me directly and/or indirectly. Sometimes, I just like to vent so I hope that's okay with you too (and we'll be thankful for that). Please feel to drop me a few lines and follow me. Again, WELCOME to the thankful me.
